Plymouth Argyle is set to face Burnley in a Championship fixture at Home Park on January 22, with kickoff scheduled for 8pm.

Plymouth Argyle currently occupies the 24th position in the Championship table, having accumulated 21 points from 27 matches.

The team is on a 13-match winless streak, with their last victory recorded on November 5, 2024, against Portsmouth.

Since the appointment of head coach Miron Muslic, Plymouth has secured one point in two games, including a recent 1-0 home defeat to Queens Park Rangers.

Burnley stands 3rd in the Championship with 53 points, trailing second-placed Sheffield United by two points and leaders Leeds United by three.

The team boasts a strong defensive record, conceding only nine goals in 27 matches.

In their latest fixture, Burnley played to a 0-0 draw against Sunderland, with goalkeeper James Trafford saving two penalties.

This result extended their unbeaten run to seven away league games, including six clean sheets.

Burnley has strengthened its squad with the signing of midfielder Jonjo Shelvey, 32, who joined on a free transfer after his contract with Turkish club Eyupspor was terminated. Shelvey has previously played for clubs including Newcastle United, Swansea City, and Liverpool.

Additionally, Burnley acquired 24-year-old defender Oliver Sonne from Danish club Silkeborg.

Sonne, a Peru international, has made over 100 appearances for Silkeborg and has also pursued a modeling career, working with brands like Gucci and Armani.

Historically, Plymouth Argyle has lost just one of their last eight home Football League games against Burnley, with four wins and three draws.

However, that defeat occurred in their most recent meeting at Home Park in March 2009.

Both teams will be looking to secure crucial points as they pursue their respective season objectives.
