Plymouth Argyle Football Club has confirmed that they have reported an allegation of racist behaviour towards a Queens Park Rangers (QPR) fan to Devon and Cornwall Police following a match on Saturday, January 18.

In a statement on the club's website, Argyle expressed their commitment to taking swift action, stating: “We are aware of reports of alleged racist behaviour towards a QPR fan at yesterday’s match. We have moved quickly to identify the offender and strongly condemn actions of this sort."

The club reiterated that Home Park, the team's stadium, is a place for everyone and thanked the Green Army for promptly reporting the incident to the safety team.

This enabled the club to provide the police with details of the individual involved.

“The investigation is now with the police and we await the outcome before further action is taken,” the statement continued.

The match, which ended in a 1-0 win for Queens Park Rangers, saw the alleged incident take place.

Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed the investigation to the Gazette, stating: “Police are investigating following an incident involving alleged racist behaviour by a fan at Plymouth Argyle’s home fixture against Queens Park Rangers on Saturday 18 January. Enquiries are ongoing.”
