Police are appealing for witnesses and information following an assault outside Barnstaple Railway Station on Friday, 29 November.
The incident occurred around 6.30pm, when a man was in his car with his children outside the station.
According to reports, the victim was waiting in his car when a man walked in front of him and then threw the contents of his drink onto the vehicle.
This led to the victim getting out of the car, where a verbal disagreement escalated, and the victim was punched by the man.
A second man then threw a glass bottle into the passenger side of the car, striking the victim's son.
The station was particularly busy at the time due to the arrival of the 17:19 train from Exeter.
Investigating officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has relevant dash-cam footage.
They are urging anyone with information to contact police on 101 or via their website, quoting reference number 50240302124.
