Local holiday park donates to charity

Roanne and Rachel from Woolacombe Sands Holiday Park help Wooly Bear hand over a giant cheque to Mair and Jacky from Care for Kids North Devon

A local holiday park in North Devon has donated £6,932 to a local charity.

Woolacombe Sands Holiday Park has made the generous contribution to Care for Kids North Devon.

The donation follows a year of fundraising, with customers given the opportunity to donate to the charity when booking their stay at the holiday park.

This donation will be enough to support six local families who turn to the charity for help. Care for Kids provides instant grants of £1,000 to families who have a child diagnosed with a life-threatening illness or condition.

These grants help families cover the unexpected costs of travel to specialist appointments outside the area and loss of earnings while caring for a very poorly child.

Care for Kids Manager, Jacky Massos, said “A big thank you to Woolacombe Sands Holiday Park and its customers for their amazing donations! Our charity is totally self-funded so we rely on the generosity of local businesses and individuals who give their time and money to sponsor and support us. We are only a small charity, so this donation is a big deal for us and will make a massive difference to the families we support, so thank you.”

Business Owner and MD, Naomi McCormick, said “We were delighted to support another local charity this year and would like to thank our wonderful guests for their generosity. Thank you ‘Care for Kids’ for all your hard work supporting families that benefit from this valuable charity in our local area. We look forward to supporting you again in the future.”
