Poundland has confirmed it will close its store at Barnstaple Retail Park on Station Road, Sticklepath, on December 24.
The retailer cited an inability to reach an agreement with the landlord as the reason for the closure.
A spokesperson for Poundland said: “We've been unable to secure an agreement with the landlord at that particular location that would allow us to stay open there - and that's why the store is set to close on 24 December.”
The store is one of three Poundland locations in Barnstaple.
The company says it will try to find alternative roles for staff at nearby stores.
“It goes without saying we will do all we can to find alternative roles at nearby stores, which are very close by, and we look forward to welcoming customers there,” the spokesperson added.
Poundland will continue to operate at Green Lanes Shopping Centre and Barnstaple High Street, offering alternative options for shoppers in the area.
