Devon and Cornwall Police have teamed up with local authorities and Stagecoach to provide a new night bus service this Christmas, aimed at reducing drink and drug driving and addressing alcohol-related issues such as violence against women and girls and anti-social behaviour.
The £2 per journey service will run on Stagecoach’s Route 21 every Saturday night, starting 30 November and continuing until 21 December.
In addition, the service will operate on Factory Friday, 20 December, and New Year’s Eve, offering a safe and affordable transport option for those heading home after a night out.
This initiative follows a successful pilot earlier in the summer and has been funded by the police, local authorities, and Stagecoach as part of a wider campaign to promote safety during the festive season.
If you’ve got a Christmas party or a night out planned, the bus is a convenient option to get home safely at the end of the night, helping to prevent the dangers associated with alcohol-fueled driving and late-night violence.
The night bus service is part of a broader effort to combat harmful behaviours linked to excessive drinking and ensure people can enjoy their Christmas celebrations without compromising their safety.
