Exterior of the care home
A North Devon care home has been sold.
Alban House Residential Care Home, located on Apsley Terrace in Ilfracombe, was sold by Christie & Co.
The home provides accommodation and personal care for up to 23 residents, including older people living with dementia, learning disabilities, and other mental health needs, as well as younger adults with physical disabilities and neurological conditions.
After 25 years of ownership, David Svenson decided to bring Alban House to market to allow for his retirement.
The sale was managed confidentially by Christie & Co’s Eve-Angelia Apperley and Simon Harvey, resulting in the home’s purchase by first-time buyers Baksho and Onkar Hayer.
David Svenson, former owner, said: “I am pleased to hand over to Mr and Mrs Hayer after my 25 years of ownership. I believe they can take Alban House further with their ideas and enthusiasm, and I wish them all the best for the future.”
The new owners, Baksho and Onkar Hayer, added: “We look forward to continuing the successful running of Alban House as it is. The residents and staff remain our top priority. Thank you, David, for your assistance and support during this process and for trusting us to take over ownership of Alban House.”
Eve-Angelica Apperley, Business Agent at Christie & Co, commented: “We are pleased that Alban House will continue to operate successfully as a care home, and we look forward to seeing the home thrive under new ownership.”
The sale price for Alban House Residential Care Home remains undisclosed.
