A Winkleigh-based business is celebrating a major milestone this year.

Rangemoors, one of Devon’s longest-running stove providers, is marking its 50th anniversary.

Established in 1974, the company has grown into a leading provider of wood-burning, gas, and electric stoves, range cookers, and heating solutions throughout South West England.

Now a multi-generational family business, Rangemoors operates from its headquarters in Winkleigh, with additional showrooms in Exeter and Aveton Gifford near Kingsbridge.

Under the leadership of Managing Director Andrew Baker, alongside his wife Kate and their three sons, Ashley, Callum, and Zach, the business remains family-run.

Long-standing team member Allan Vodden, who serves as Chairman, provides guidance and continuity.

“It’s an honour to lead Rangemoors into its next chapter,” said Andrew Baker, Managing Director.

“We are committed to upholding the traditions of quality and customer care that have defined this company for 50 years. With such a fantastic team supporting the business we are excited by what lies ahead.”

Over the past five decades, Rangemoors has expanded significantly.

A new showroom on the Winkleigh site was built in 2004, broadening the range of products and spare parts.

Following a management buyout in 2007, Rangemoors rebranded and refined its market focus, opening another showroom in Exeter in 2015.

Most recently, in 2023, Rangemoors acquired West Country Stoves in Aveton Gifford, further strengthening its presence in the South West.

Today, Rangemoors offers one of the region’s largest selections of stoves, range cookers, and outdoor products, known for their energy-efficient, eco-friendly options featuring the latest in clean-burning technology.

“Rangemoors has experienced significant growth over the years, but our core values of integrity, innovation, and exceptional service have always remained constant. We are fortunate to have a dedicated staff and management team, many of whom have been with us for years. I’m proud to be part of this ongoing journey.”

To commemorate its 50th anniversary, Rangemoors has planned a series of events and promotions throughout the year.

A special celebration took place at the Winkleigh showroom on October 18 and 19, featuring live cooking sessions, product demonstrations, and appearances from representatives of leading manufacturers, allowing the community to join in the celebration of this Devon institution’s half-century of success.
