North Devon Council has confirmed further support for households facing rising living costs through the latest round of the Household Support Fund (HSF), set to open on Monday, 28 October.
A fund of £349,975 will be available to assist vulnerable households in North Devon until March 2025.
Pensionable age households that receive council tax reduction but do not qualify for pension credit will receive a £200 voucher, redeemable at a Post Office.
Eligible residents will receive a letter explaining the scheme, followed by a separate letter containing the voucher.
For those unable to reach a Post Office, vouchers may be redeemed by a family member or friend with appropriate identification.
The remaining funds will be accessible via an application scheme managed by over 25 local organisations, which will apply on behalf of their clients.
Councillor Helen Walker, Lead Member for Commercialisation and Resources, said: “We are so pleased to be able to continue offering vital financial assistance to vulnerable households in our community with this latest round of the Household Support Fund. The funding will provide much-needed support to those struggling with the rising cost of living.”
The council encourages residents needing further assistance to check its website for details on organisations eligible to apply on their behalf.
Since its launch in October 2021, the government-funded HSF has distributed over £1.6 million to vulnerable households across North Devon.
