Mission Unbreakable sign-up deadline looms

Time’s running out to join North Devon’s toughest fundraiser

 Mission Unbreakable sign-up deadline looms

North Devon Hospice Mission Unbreakable

With just one month remaining to register, the countdown is on for North Devon's most challenging charity event, Mission: Unbreakable.

Set to take place on Sunday, October 13, this year’s edition promises a formidable test with over 30 obstacles spread across a demanding 10 kilometre course, starting and finishing at North Molton Sports Club.

Participants will face an array of challenges, including wading through freezing rivers, scaling steep hills, and crawling across boggy marshland.

New this year are obstacles like ‘Hacksaw Ridge’ and the final test, ‘CT1 and Out,’ designed to push competitors to their limits.

The event is a crucial fundraiser for North Devon Hospice, which relies on donations to provide care and support for local individuals facing cancer and other life-limiting illnesses. As the hospice celebrates its 40th anniversary, the funds raised will help sustain its services now and into the future.

Lisa Mackenzie, Events Manager at North Devon Hospice, said: “Every year, we work with the commandos from 24 Royal Engineer Regiment based at RMB Chivenor to ensure this continues to be the South West’s biggest and best commando challenge. In 2024, we’ve got even more brand-new obstacles to test your limits and make crossing that iconic finish line feel even more amazing knowing you’ve helped make a difference to someone in your community when they need it most.”

North Devon Hospice provides vital end-of-life care, supporting patients both in their own homes and in the hospice’s specialist Bedded Unit in Barnstaple, where they offer comprehensive pain management and comfort.
