Calvert Exmoor, an activity centre known for providing transformative outdoor experiences for individuals with disabilities, is nearing the halfway mark in its urgent fundraising campaign.

With just eight days remaining, the centre has successfully raised more than £200,000, reaching 41 percent of its £500,000 target.

The funds are crucial to keeping the centre's doors open beyond August 31.

In a recent update on their fundraising page, the Calvert Exmoor team expressed their gratitude and excitement, announcing that their campaign had gained significant momentum in the past 24 hours.

They said: “Since launching our rewards for this campaign yesterday, donations have been pouring in like never before! We've received not one, but TWO incredible £50,000 donations, alongside hundreds of other generous contributions. Each donation is bringing us closer to our goal, and we can't thank each and every one of you enough!”

Calvert Exmoor has been a beacon of hope and empowerment for nearly three decades, offering accessible activities such as horse riding, zip-lining, climbing, and canoeing.

The centre has been a sanctuary for individuals and families with disabilities, fostering independence and building confidence through outdoor adventures.

However, the future of Calvert Exmoor is now hanging in the balance.

The centre's team has made it clear that without raising the full £500,000 by the August 31 deadline, they will have no choice but to close the facility, bringing an end to almost 30 years of life-changing services.

The appeal has struck a chord with the community and supporters far and wide, with donations pouring in from individuals moved by the centre's mission and impact.

Calvert Exmoor is calling on everyone who values the importance of inclusive outdoor activities to contribute whatever they can in these critical final days.
