Tattoo studio hosts flash sale to support local cats

Great Torrington’s Dearworthy Tattoos is set to host a special flash tattoo sale on Saturday, August 24, to support local feline friends.

From 10am. to 6.30pm, the studio at 14 High Street will welcome walk-in customers for a day dedicated to raising funds for Cats Protection Holsworthy.

Tattoo enthusiasts can choose from 16 exclusive designs crafted by studio owner Shannon Stevens. 

Each five-inch black and grey tattoo will be available for a donation of £60, with all proceeds going directly to the charity. 

The event will operate on a first-come-first-served basis.

Shannon Stevens, a lifelong cat lover who is currently unable to have a cat of her own, is excited about the event. 

She said: “This is going to be a brilliant day that not only raises money for an amazing cause but I’m really looking forward to meeting some new clients as well as seeing some familiar faces – perhaps we’ll even be doing some first tattoos!

“I want to produce as many pieces as possible on the day, so please do check out the designs on my Facebook and Instagram pages in advance and ideally arrive knowing which you want.”

Due to the studio’s limited space, there will be room for only those waiting for a tattoo. Friends and family are encouraged to explore the local area, including attractions such as the Commons, the heritage museum bookshop, or Dartington Crystal. 

Guests will receive full aftercare instructions with their tattoos and Shannon will be available for any advice needed during the healing process.

No prior appointments are necessary, and a consent form will be required for all participants. Those under 21 will need to show ID, and cash donations will be the only accepted method of payment for the day.

The event will help support cats like Roxy, a shy nine-year-old who arrived in care after her previous owner could no longer care for her.

Roxy, who has spent most of her life as an indoor cat, needs a calm, child-free home where she can adjust at her own pace.
