Police are issuing an appeal for an unprovoked assault on a man in Bideford by two women.
Police are seeking witnesses after an unprovoked assault on a man by two women in Bideford.
The victim was walking along Old Town between Clovelly Road and the High Street when he was approached by a group of women.
He was verbally abused before two of them assaulted him, hitting him twice over the head with a glass bottle.
The man, in his 30s and from Bideford, sustained a cut to his head and was treated at the scene by paramedics.
Police are investigating the incident which took place between 6pm and 7pm on Saturday, May 11. While the alleged attack was three months ago, police are hoping someone in the community will have seen something and will come forward.
A woman in her 30s from Bideford has attended a police interview under suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. She has been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
Officers are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or may have information to get in touch.
