Exceptional results see students secure top university spots and coveted apprenticeships

Bideford College is celebrating the news of their A Level results, achieving an impressive pass rate of 99 per cent.

The college announced that both staff and students are rejoicing after a stellar performance this year. 

With over half of the grades awarded at the top A* to B range, the results reflect the exceptional dedication and hard work of the sixth form students.

The college, part of the Athena Learning Trust, is proud of its students, many of whom have secured places at top universities, sought-after apprenticeships, and selected jobs. 

Among the notable individual achievements are:

  • George Brown, who achieved 3A* and 2A grades in Maths, Further Maths, Physics, Biology, and Chemistry, will be studying Medicine at the University of Bristol.
  • James Anderson, with 3A* and an A in Maths, Further Maths, Physics, and Chemistry, has secured a place to study Physics at the University of Bath.
  • Mille May Britt earned an A* and 3A’s in Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry, and Biology and will pursue Medicine at Edinburgh University.
  • Bonnie Yarrow, who achieved 2A* and an A in English Literature, Psychology, and Theatre Studies, will be reading American Studies with Film at Sussex University.
  • Alexander Rucki secured 2A* and an A in Maths, Further Maths, and Physics, and will study Computer Science at Exeter University.
  • Oliver Ross, with an A* and 2A’s in Maths, Biology, and Chemistry, has a place at Imperial College London to read Biological Science.

Dr Claire Ankers, Principal at Bideford College, expressed her pride in the students’ accomplishments: “We are incredibly proud of all our students, who have collectively achieved some of the best exam results awarded to students from the college. They fully deserve these fantastic results which reflect years of hard work and commitment from both the students and the staff. In addition to their academic achievements, they have made significant contributions to both the college and the Bideford community. We wish them every success in their future endeavours.”
