The Champ backs Appledore FC

New sponsors, The Champ

The Appledore Women FC team have said they are delighted to announce that local pub, The Champ in Appledore, has generously stepped up to sponsor the Appledore Football Club.

This significant sponsorship, totaling £700, will help ensure that local players can continue to play the game they love for free.

Yesterday morning (July 8), representatives from Appledore Women FC, including Martin Windsor, coach Riley Windsor, captain Beth Ellis, and Rohanna Little, met with Nigel, Richard, and Adrian from The Champ to secure this valuable partnership.

The funds will be used for new season training jackets for the women's team, a player sponsorship for captain Beth Ellis, and a pitch-side board sponsorship.

The team said that The Champ was saved from five local investors, Nigel, Jane, Mark, Richard, and Barry, and have already invested money into local charities such as the RNLI, North Devon food bank, MIND, and now continuing their work in the local community.

Manager Martin Windsor, said: “We are so pleased to have the champ on board, a local business supporting our amazing Appledore Women FC and Appledore Football Club.

“Such great people which we are very grateful to have met today and looking forward to working with you all in the season ahead

"Sponsorships like these means our ladies and men can play the game they love for free which is our aim, so these sponsorships we are always very grateful for. And continues the great work these amazing people from the champ are carrying out locally.

“If there are any more local business looking to sponsor please get in contact via our social media platforms Appledore football club”
