Torridge and Tavistock have Conservative hold

Sir Geoffrey Cox

Sir Geoffrey Cox has successfully held his seat in Torridge and Tavistock, securing a victory in the latest election.

Mr Cox won with 16,049 votes, with a turnout of 68 percent from the 74,727 registered voters in the constituency.

First entering Parliament in the 2005 general election, Mr Cox has been a steadfast representative of the area.

His re-election in the 2010 general election solidified his position, a trend that continued with further victories in the 2015 general election and the snap 2017 election.

Throughout his tenure in the House of Commons, Mr Cox has been an active participant on various committees, including the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Select Committee, the Committee on Standards, and the Committee on Privileges.

On 9 July 2018, Mr Cox's political career reached new heights with his appointment to the Cabinet as Her Majesty's Attorney General for England and Wales and Advocate General for Northern Ireland.

The 2019 general election reaffirmed Mr Cox's into the role once more.

His contributions to parliamentary and political service were recognised when he was knighted in the 2021 New Year Honours.

The rest of the results go as follows:

  • Phil Hutty, Lib Dem - 12,099
  • Isabel Saxby, Labour - 10,765
  • Andrew Jackson, Reform - 9,152
  • Judy Maciejowska, Green - 2,350
  • Alan Rayner, Independent - 405
