Larger-than-life entertainer, comedian and cabaret legend Fonda Cox will be strutting her stuff at The Pier House in Westward Ho! this Friday (July 5) to raise money for a vital local charity.

The international drag queen will be the star of a night of music, comedy and sass to raise much-needed funds and awareness for North Devon Against Domestic Abuse (NDADA).

The charity offers a vital refuge service for women and children fleeing from domestic violence as well as providing advice and support for those suffering domestic abuse and raising greater awareness of it in the community.

With a career that has spanned three decades, Fonda Cox is a flamboyant performer who has left a trail of glitter across the stages of Europe. With razor sharp wit and a magnetic presence, be prepared to get to know this diva intimately.

With sparkle and sass, she offers an insight to the highs and lows of her fabulous career, her love life and her battles with hair removal creams!

Not just a show, this icon will create a party with her mix of comedy and song, belting out classics that will have you singing along and dancing in the aisles.

Rob Braddick, owner of the Pier House, who agreed to host the event said: “NDADA is such a worthwhile local charity and I hope the event will help raise awareness about domestic abuse.

“People don’t need to suffer behind closed doors because NDADA are there to support women, men and children and their work has already made a huge difference to so many people in our community.”

Anne Tattersall, who has organised the event, added: “I guarantee a fun night, full of laughter for everyone who attends Fonda’s shows. This will be a night to remember.”

Anne thanked Rob Braddick for his generosity in lending his premises for this event and for his continued support and deep community spirit in charity events such as these.

She said: “As well as a great night there will be a short auction and raffle on the evening and I’m grateful to Sian and Tony at the Sea Gate Hotel in Appledore, who have already donated a fabulous overnight stay with breakfast for two.”

If any other businesses or individuals would like to support the event by donating an auction or raffle prize, or for more information, please contact Anne on 07971 696192.
