Jodie Kidd and Alice Temperley will be at the Lyn Valley Classic car show tomorrow (Sunday).

The Lyn Valley Classic car show is expecting to welcome a record number of visitors and two very special guests to its 10th anniversary event this Sunday (June 9).

More than 400 classic cars, motorcycles, supercars and vintage tractors are set to descend on the twin villages of Lynton and Lynmouth for the popular charity fundraiser.

Joining the show this year will be two special guests in the form of Jodie Kidd – supermodel, racing driver and car enthusiast – plus top fashion designer Alice Temperley MBE, a favourite with HRH the Princess of Wales.

Jodie and Alice are guests of main event sponsor Tors Park.

Plus, local charity champion and cancer survivor Louise Butcher is joining the event too. Louise is known as the ‘topless runner’ following her campaign to promote body positivity and raise awareness of breast cancer.

Proceeds from the event will go to charities including the Devon and Somerset air ambulances, North Devon Hospice, South West Blood Bikes, Chemo Hero, Support Dogs for Veterans, RNLI Ilfracombe, North Devon Against Domestic Abuse, The Fern Centre and Tarka Radio among others.

The Lyn Valley Classic will see the villages inundated with iconic vehicles, together with live displays, music and entertainment as well as trade stands and of course many amazing vehicles to browse, both in the centre of Lynton and at the Manor Green, Lynmouth.

Gates open at 10am and the Cliff Railway will be busy all day ferrying visitors between the two villages, or of course there is a very scenic walking route as an option!

A park and ride facility will be set up at the cricket ground in Valley of Rocks, Lynton, with a charge of £7.50 per car for the day and a shuttle bus service run by Ilfracombe Community Transport to Lynton. Cash payment is preferred as the mobile signal is poor.

Some limited parking is available in Lynton and Lynmouth but it is expected to be very busy with people and vehicles and visitors are strongly advised to choose the park and ride option.

Organiser James Tucker said: “We are trying to lift the event even further rather than make it any bigger. It’s special that we can close the road in Lynton and fill it with supercars – and then we have Manor Green in Lynmouth with its amazing backdrop.

“We could go bigger elsewhere, but we want to keep it in Lynton and Lynmouth and keep it special, so having Jodie and Alice coming is absolutely fantastic.”
