A new support group is being launched in North Devon for head and neck patients, as well as those who care for them.
The group, formed by the Swallows Head and Neck Support Charity, in collaboration with the Royal Devon University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and patient volunteers, aims to provide a safe and welcoming space for people to share their experiences and receive support.
The first meeting will take place on Thursday 27 June at 6.30pm at Grosvenor Community Church, Old Station Road, Barnstaple, EX32 8PB.
The meeting is open to anyone affected by head and neck cancer, including patients, caregivers, friends, and family members.
The Swallows Head and Neck Cancer Support Charity is a well-established charity that has been providing support to those affected by head and neck cancer for many years.
The charity aims to give people the chance to meet others who have gone through similar experiences and to chat about their concerns and challenges.
At the launch meeting, attendees will have the opportunity to meet with representatives from the charity and learn more about the services they offer.
There will also be various company stands showcasing products that can help manage cancer treatment-related side effects, such as dry mouth, laryngectomy care products, and nutrition.
The group will meet regularly on the second Thursday of each month, starting from July.
The meetings will take place at Grosvenor Community Church from 6.30pm for 7pm start, finishing at 8.30pm.
To attend the launch meeting or find out more information about the group, please contact Sharon Curtis, Charity Manager, on info@theswallows.org.uk or 07504 725059.
