Last chance to sign up for the North Devon Marathon

This is your last chance to sign up to the marathon

Runners from across North Devon have a final opportunity to register for the North Devon Marathon, Half Marathon, and 10k, happening next month.

With registration closing soon, the hospice has said this is the last chance for local enthusiasts to join one of the country's most scenic and challenging races while supporting a vital cause.

Scheduled for Sunday, June 30, the North Devon Marathon is a highly anticipated event known as the “Beauty and the Beast.”

Runners will tackle steep inclines and tough terrain, rewarded with breathtaking views along North Devon’s coastline.

The full marathon (26.2 miles), half marathon (13.1 miles), and 10k (6.2 miles) all start in Woolacombe, covering sections of the South West Coast Path and the North Devon Coast National Landscape.

Participants will receive a medal and a cream tea at the finish line.

Lisa Mackenzie, Events Manager at North Devon Hospice, said: “The North Devon

Marathon is without doubt one of the most exciting running events in the UK and the atmosphere is always electric, especially just before the races start. Every step runners take

will mean we can continue to be here for the people of North Devon, caring for you time after

time. We’re looking forward to cheering you on every step of the way!”

North Devon Hospice is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.

The charity provides care for individuals affected by cancer and other serious illnesses, offering support at home and in their Bedded Unit for symptom management and comfort care.

Funds raised from the marathon will directly support these services.

Marie Wale, a running influencer participating in the half marathon, is looking forward to the challenge.

She said: “I live in London – it’s quite flat here and there aren’t many hills, so I know this is going to be a difficult race. But I’m really looking forward to doing something completely different, getting out of my comfort zone, and of course, running to support the amazing North Devon Hospice.”

The event is sponsored by Woolacombe Bay Holiday Parks, whose support ensures the marathon's success.

Claire Paine, Business Relationships Manager at North Devon Hospice, said: “A huge thank you to all of our sponsors including Woolacombe Bay Holiday Parks for making this much-loved event possible. And the biggest thank you to every single person taking part. To tackle a race like this is no easy feat but doing so in aid of the hospice is truly remarkable; your support means the world to our patients and families.”

Don’t miss this last chance to sign up for the North Devon Marathon.

Registration is closing soon.
