Could you give Nero a home? (Image: Dogs Trust Ilfracombe)
A three-year-old Italian Corso Cross has been patiently waiting for his forever family for more than a year at Dogs Trust Ilfracombe.
Since arriving in May 2023, Nero has shown off his good manners and house-trained skills. The charity said that he loves snoozing on the sofa and has charmed the staff during sleepovers at the centre.
Nero is a smart boy who enjoys learning new tricks, especially if there's a treat involved!
He prefers calm walks where he can explore without too many distractions.
While he can be shy around new things, he's open to making doggy friends with proper introductions. Nero isn't a fan of rainy weather or loud noises like thunder and fireworks, but he thrives on reassurance from his humans.
Due to a heart condition, Nero needs a home where he can enjoy a lower level of exercise. He's happiest in a quiet environment and loves spending time with his people.
Jody White, Nero's Rehabilitation Trainer, has been by his side since he arrived. She's seen his personality blossom and believes he's ready for his forever home.
She said: “Nero is a big lad with an even bigger heart, watching him grow and show off his personality over the last year has been lovely to see, he is well overdue for his forever home and his forever spot on the sofa. Nero is just one of the many dogs I have had the pleasure of working with, putting together training plans, and building the confidence of the more worried residents of the centre, and getting them ready for their forever homes. I love coming to work every morning and seeing their waggy tails but like Nero I would love to see them in their forever homes too.”
