Police in Barnstaple are urging members of the public to come forward with any information they may have regarding a robbery that occurred in the Roundswell area on Sunday, March 24.

The incident involved two children who were walking on the footpath leading to Mulberry Way from Beech Close sometime between 12pm and 2pm. 

According to reports, the children were confronted by a male suspect who demanded money from the older child. 

When the demand was refused, the suspect allegedly struck the child and made off with a sports drink.

Descriptions provided by witnesses indicate that the suspect is a white male aged between 14 and 16 years old, with an average build. 

He was reportedly wearing a dark-coloured beanie-style hat, a zip-up long-sleeved hooded jacket featuring three colours (red at the top, white across the middle, and blue at the bottom), black tracksuit trousers, and light winter gloves.

In the wake of the incident, the force have been employing various investigative measures to identify the suspect. 

However, they are now reaching out to the community for any assistance.

Local and business CCTV footage is being examined as part of the ongoing investigation.

Devon and Cornwall Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any information regarding the suspect to come forward. 

They particularly seek individuals who may have seen someone matching the description provided in the area between the approximate times of the incident.
