Partnership brings state-of-the-art learning spaces to Woolacombe Primary

New classrooms set to transform Woolacombe Primary School

The build in its early development

Woolacombe Primary School, part of the Alumnis Multi-Academy Trust, will be receiving two state-of-the-art replacement classrooms in time for the summer of 2024.

Thanks to a partnership between the Alumnis Multi-Academy Trust and construction experts BGR Group, these classrooms promise to revolutionise learning for students and teachers alike.

BGR Group is known for its eco-friendly and cost-effective approach to building classrooms, and their collaboration with the Alumnis Trust has resulted in cutting-edge facilities for Woolacombe Primary.

Their timber-framed designs offer flexibility and adaptability, ensuring minimal disruption during construction.

As part of their corporate social responsibility, BGR has generously donated one of the classrooms to Woolacombe Primary School, marking the beginning of their broader national strategy to upgrade educational facilities.

Gail Holmes, the Headteacher of Woolacombe Primary School for the past 15 years, has been overseeing the project's development.

Under her leadership, the school has achieved significant milestones, including a highly successful OFSTED inspection and accreditation as a 'school of character.'

Expressing her enthusiasm for the new classrooms, Mrs. Holmes said: "I’m so excited that the new classrooms will further empower and enable us to ensure learning at Woolacombe is innovative and transformative FOR ALL CHILDREN".

To commemorate the occasion, the school has created time capsules filled with memories and aspirations from the students.

These capsules will be placed beneath the new classrooms.

The grand opening of the new classrooms will feature plans for a celebratory event on June 8.
