North Devon Hospice brings back Nightwalk

This years theme will be the 80s

Nightwalk

Nightwalk is running for its 16th year

An 80s celebration like no other comprising dazzling neon lights, iconic hairdos, and some of the most infectious songs of our time awaits women and girls taking part in this year’s Nightwalk for North Devon Hospice.

The annual ladies’ walk, which takes place on Saturday, May 11, will see hundreds of women from across the county come together to walk various routes along North Devon’s Tarka Trail and raise vital funds for the hospice as they mark their 40th-anniversary year.

Sponsorship raised will help ensure the charity can continue providing vital care to patients and families journeying through cancer and other life-limiting illnesses now and in the future.

As part of this year’s Nightwalk, organisers will be serving up a selection of 80s nostalgia and treating walkers to a night of 80s fun to celebrate 40 years of care delivered by North Devon Hospice.

Along with an array of stunning lights and quality entertainment, those taking part in this much-loved event will also be treated to a ‘rad’ soundtrack featuring the best 80s tunes, performances from top local DJs and dancers, free refreshments, and plenty of photo opportunities en route to capture those magical memories from the night.

“Whether you’re a Nightwalk newbie or seasoned walker, this year’s Nightwalk promises a fabulous night of 80s fun that you won’t want to miss,” said Lisa Mackenzie, Events Manager at North Devon Hospice.

“As part of the celebrations, we’re encouraging walkers to channel their inner 80s icons – Madonna, Grace Jones, Cyndi Lauper - and go all out with their costumes to make this our biggest and best Nightwalk ever!”

Running for its 16th year, Nightwalk is one of the hospice’s flagship events and always brings women and girls of all ages together for a night of treasured memory-making.

But the funds raised from this year’s event will mean even more to those needing hospice care now and in the future.

“In North Devon Hospice’s 40th year, we’re inspired by the uplifting care provided over the last 40 years,” added Lisa.

“But these are uncertain times. More people than ever rely on our care, and it’s getting harder to raise enough funds to meet local needs. Only with your support can we continue to be there for the people of North Devon. Together, we can ensure your hospice is here in the future; caring for you, time after time.”

Nightwalk takes place on Saturday, May 11.
