lfracombe RNLI is gearing up for an action-packed weekend of celebrations this Saturday and Sunday in honour of the RNLI's 200th anniversary.
With a plethora of events lined up, there's something for everyone to enjoy while showing support for the brave lifesavers.
Kicking off the festivities, RNLI Ilfracombe has invited the community to join their crew and volunteers at 2pm on Saturday (March 16) for a town photograph atop Capstone Hill. Donning yellow attire is encouraged as a show of solidarity with the dedicated lifesavers.
It's an opportunity to be part of a historic moment and demonstrate appreciation for the invaluable work of the RNLI.
RNLI Ilfracombe is offering a special tour of the lifeboat station and boats on Saturday morning.
Although free, booking is required to limit numbers.
On Sunday (March 17) afternoon at 2pm, author Ann Cleeves, renowned for her Vera series, will be at the Landmark Theatre.
Ms Cleeves will be launching the paperback of her latest novel, The Raging Storm, featuring an RNLI rescue.
Joining her on stage will be two members of the RNLI Ilfracombe boat crew, sharing real-life rescue stories from the area.
Tickets for this event can be purchased directly from the Landmark Theatre.
The ticket price not only includes admission and a donation to RNLI Ilfracombe but also a copy of the book, he Raging Storm.
