The Spring Classic Festival has announced it will not be returning after two successful years in Woolacombe.

The festival, which began in May 2022 to bring an “ocean minded escapism”, quickly gained popularity for its unique blend of ocean vibes, live music, and community engagement.

Despite its initial success, organisers recently revealed that the festival will not be returning to Woolacombe in 2024.

In a statement, they explained that despite their best efforts, they were unable to overcome the financial challenges associated with rising costs and declining sponsorship.

"It is with the heaviest of hearts that we must announce that Spring Classic 2024 is cancelled” said the organisers.

"We have poured our hearts, souls, and personal finances into the event. Unfortunately, over the last few months, planning our return this summer, it became clear that the increased costs of running the event became too challenging for us to overcome."

Kevin Cook, Chairman of Mortehoe Parish Council, shared his disappointment: "We are all very sad to hear that the festival will no longer be able to continue.”

"It was well-run, environmentally focused, and offered great entertainment to the village."

Despite the news, organisers are ensuring that ticket holders are not left empty-handed. They have offered the option to transfer their tickets to Rock Oyster Festival in North Cornwall, promising a similarly vibrant experience with an impressive lineup of musical acts including The Human League and the Sugababes.

Following the announcement, the organisers said: "We would like to thank all those that made the Spring Classic the special event that it was.”
