The proposed post office could see 84 hours of Post Office service per week

Lynton’s postal services have geared up for a significant upgrade as plans have been proposed for the relocation of the local Post Office to a new location.

The proposed move to Costcutter, situated at 15-16 Lee Road, Lynton, EX35 6HW, will promise not only enhanced accessibility but also extended operating hours

The former Post Office branch, previously located at Lee Road, Lynton, EX35 6BS, closed its doors in December due to the resignation of the operator, prompting the search for alternative premises.

Now, with the appointment of a new agent, the prospect of a Post Office serving point within the Costcutter convenience store has emerged as a promising solution, ensuring continuity of service for Lynton residents.

Among the key improvements accompanying the relocation is the extension of operating hours. Under the proposed plan, the Post Office will be open seven days a week, from 8am to 8pm, effectively doubling the previous opening hours.

This substantial increase, totaling 84 hours of Post Office service per week, is poised to greatly enhance accessibility and convenience for local residents.

To ensure that the proposed move aligns with community preferences, a consultation period has been initiated, inviting residents to provide feedback on the relocation and the accessibility of the new location.

The consultation, which will remain open until March 26, offers residents ample opportunity to voice their opinions and shape the future of their postal services.

Residents are encouraged to submit feedback through various channels, including online platforms such as postofficeviews.co.uk, email (comments@postoffice.co.uk), post (Freepost YOUR COMMENTS).

Residents can also do this by telephone or Textphone (03452 66 01 15 or 03457 22 33 55).
