The enquiry office will be open Monday to Saturday from 10am-3pm

Starting today (Monday, February 5), police enquiry offices in Ilfracombe have opened to the public.

These additions mark the latest development in one of the country's most extensive campaigns aimed at enhancing police contact, with plans for more enquiry offices in the pipeline.

Residents of Ilfracombe will now have the opportunity to report crimes in person or seek assistance at the newly opened offices.

Locals will find the office located at 67-69 Princess Avenue, Ilfracombe, EX34 9JS.

Operating on weekdays and Saturdays from 10am to 3pm, the walk-in service will provide a valuable resource for the public, offering crime reporting assistance, crime prevention advice, and support in accessing victim services.

Alison Hernandez, the Police and Crime Commissioner for Devon, Cornwall, and the Isles of Scilly, expressed enthusiasm about the new Police Enquiry Offices.

Ms Hernandez said: "Police Enquiry Offices are places of safety where the public can get help and advice and offer an alternative to the phone in terms of a method of contact."

The initiative aligns with a broader project led by Ms Hernandez, which has aimed to establish an additional 18 police enquiry offices (PEOs) around the force area. The total number of police station front desks accessible to the public across Devon and Cornwall is anticipated to reach 27 by 2025.

This expansion comes in response to an analysis by Devon and Cornwall Police and the Police and Crime Commissioner.

It has since been released that Police Enquiry Offices in Exeter city centre, Ivybridge, Liskeard, and Tavistock will be open in due course.
