Detectives are intensifying efforts to solve a distressing case of sexual assault at the Boardmasters Festival in Newquay, as they release an e-fit image in hopes of gathering crucial information.
The incident occurred on the evening of Saturday, August 13, 2022, when a 17-year-old girl was subjected to a serious sexual assault by two men within a tent. In their ongoing investigation, detectives have unveiled an e-fit image of a man they wish to identify in connection with the case.
The described individual is a white male with a tan, aged between 17 and 23 at the time of the incident, standing between 5ft 8in and 6ft tall, possessing a muscular build, blond/brown hair, a 'slanted' nose, and a clean-shaven appearance. Notably, he had a South African accent and was seen wearing a green necklace and a leather necklace bearing a tooth.
Detectives are also seeking information on a second man involved, described as a white male with tanned skin, around 19 years old, approximately 6ft 3in tall, with a slim build and upper lip hair. He had an English accent, wore a gold ring on his left hand, and a gold signet ring on the other.
Detective Inspector Dan McKenzie explained the gravity of the attack, stating, “This was an extremely distressing attack for this young woman to endure and it has had a significant impact on her life. We continue to provide support to her through specially-trained officers."
The public is urged to carefully examine the e-fit image and come forward if they recognise the man or have any information related to the incident at Boardmasters in 2022. Detective McKenzie has stressed the importance of sharing any information, no matter how small, as it could be vital to the investigation.
