North Molton Young Farmers' Club thrive in charitable efforts

The initiative not only contributed to the post-holiday cleanup but also raised an impressive total of £695

Having supported these charities in the previous year, the club presented a commendable £1500 to each charity last autumn.

North Molton Young Farmers' Club (YFC) continues to make waves in the local community, combining social events, charitable efforts, and countryside activities. This vibrant group, composed of young farmers aged 10 to 28, convenes monthly at the North Molton Sports Club for a mix of fun, learning, and service.

North Molton YFC is a club for any young person with any interest in the countryside and it's activities.

With the festive season now long gone, recently the YFC worked together to create a successful Christmas tree collection initiative during the beginning of January.

Going beyond the usual holiday merriment, the club organised a community-driven effort to collect more than 90 Christmas trees from local homes, primarily in South Molton and North Molton.

Members, along with their families, actively participated in the weekend collection in order to support the community and raise funds for a great cause.

The initiative not only contributed to the post-holiday clean-up but also raised an impressive total of £695. The funds collected from this project will support the YFC's ongoing activities and their chosen charities for the year, Chemo Hero and the Royal Devon Hospital Charity

This year, North Molton YFC has passionately embraced its role as a force for good, selecting ChemoHero and Over and Above (now the Royal Devon Hospital Charity) as their designated charities.

Having supported these charities in the previous year, the club presented a commendable £1,500 to each charity last autumn and has committed to continuing this support throughout the current YFC year.

The club's charitable efforts extend beyond tree collections, with successful events like a Halloween bingo drawing over 85 participants and a quiz night in Brayford that proved to be a hit.

Upcoming on the agenda is an Easter bingo event scheduled for March 22, promising more engaging activities and opportunities for the community to support the North Molton YFC's charitable endeavours.

For anyone wishing to be a part of the YFC, the group meet the first Sunday of every month at North Molton Sports Club.
