Wulf, based at Dog's Trust Ilfracombe is looking for his forever home after spending more than 300 days in the charity's care.
Dogs Trust Ilfracombe is reaching out to the community as Wulf, a spirited one-year-old Collie Crossbreed, continues his search for a permanent, loving home.
Having spent an incredible 324 days under the care of the charity, the charity hopes that Wulf will soon find a new home.
Arriving at Dogs Trust in March 2023, Wulf faced the challenges of adapting to indoor living after never having experienced it before. Classified as an 'underdog' due to his extended stay, Wulf's story is an appeal for a patient and understanding home with adult adopters willing to invest time and love into his continued growth.
Dogs Trust, the UK’s largest dog welfare charity, remains committed to the well-being of dogs and strives towards a world where every dog experiences a happy life, free from unnecessary destruction.
Described as a lively, bouncy companion, that charity said Wulf thrives on treats and the company of his human friends.
Despite initial shyness, he quickly is able to form a bond and enjoys engaging in playful activities such as ball games and tugs.
Wulf, while still mastering the art of fetch, is ready to bring joy and affection to a family that gives him a chance.
Elise Watson, Centre Manager at Dogs Trust Ilfracombe, has shared insight into Wulf's progress, stating, "Wulf is a lovely dog who, after a difficult start to life, has come on leaps and bounds. He is doing really well with his basic training and has now learnt 'sit,' 'wait,' and 'paw'."
Highlighting Wulf's need for a supportive family, Elise added, "Wulf’s new family will need to invest time and love into him, to help him build confidence as he adapts and learns about the world, but once settled, he will pay you back with years of love and affection - if you give him a chance!"
Prospective adopters are encouraged to have someone at home with Wulf initially, gradually building up his comfort with alone time.
As a social dog, Wulf prefers to be the only dog in the home, relishing in treats and luxuries. Dog social during walks, he appreciates the company of other canine friends but may need quiet walks initially to avoid feeling overwhelmed in busy areas.
