Nightwalk, the much-anticipated ladies walking event hosted by North Devon Hospice, is making a triumphant return in 2024.

In celebration of the hospice's 40th anniversary, this year's Nightwalk will be a nostalgic ode to the 80s, promising a night filled with neon lights, leg warmers, and iconic 80s tunes.

All funds raised will play a crucial role in providing essential care for patients and families in North Devon facing cancer and other life-limiting illnesses.

The event will gather women and girls to walk a choice of routes between Barnstaple, Bideford and Instow to raise money for North Devon Hospice. At registration, simply choose your route.

Scheduled for Saturday, May 11, Nightwalk 2024 will unite hundreds of women in a spirited sponsored walk from Barnstaple to Bideford, with routes of varying lengths to accommodate participants of all preferences.

As walkers traverse the Tarka Trail illuminated by vibrant lights, they are encouraged to embrace the 80s theme by channelling their inner icons – be it Madonna, Grace Jones, or Cyndi Lauper.

Lisa Mackenzie, Events Manager at North Devon Hospice, expressed the uniqueness of Nightwalk, stating, “This isn’t your average walk – it’s a journey back in time for the ultimate 80s celebration of music, film, and screen! By taking part in this iconic hospice event, you’ll be grooving alongside hundreds of other incredible women to raise money for North Devon Hospice and help us provide vital care to people in their toughest times."

In addition to the walk along the Tarka Trail, participants can expect a 'rad' soundtrack featuring the best tunes of the 80s, creating an atmosphere of pure nostalgia. Debbie Quick, who participated in Nightwalk last year, shared her experience: “It was a truly special night, and to see the Tarka Trail lit up with so many women walking together to support our local hospice was just wonderful! If you haven’t already, do sign up!”

Registration for Nightwalk 2024 is now open, offering participants the chance to be part of this unique 80s celebration and contribute to the hospice's mission for another 40 years of compassionate care.
