A North Devon sea shanty band, Anchors Aweigh, have proudly announced the release of their latest album, Swinging the Lead, in which all profits from the album sales will be donated to charity.

Having displayed their unwavering commitment to local causes, Anchors Aweigh made waves in 2023 by raising a substantial £3250 for North Devon Hospice. With a rich history of 15 years, the band has become a fixture at local events, using their musical prowess to amplify charitable efforts.

This musical endeavour has showcased a captivating fusion of classic sea shanties and folk tunes, echoing the spirit of the sea and resonating with the heart of the community.

During the summer months, Anchors Aweigh can be spotted serenading crowds every Tuesday at The Chichester Arms in Mortehoe and on Thursdays outside the Red Barn in Woolacombe.

Fans eager to enjoy their music can secure their digital copy by contacting anchorsaweighdevon@gmail.com.

For those seeking a physical CD, these are available at key local points, including the Woolacombe Tourist Information Centre, Mortehoe Post Office, and Mortehoe Museum.
