Bag snatched from elderly woman in Bideford

Police are appealing for witnesses after an elderly woman had her handbag snatched in Bideford.

The victim, aged in her 80s, was waiting for a bus on the Quay when a female suspect grabbed her bag. An unknown person stepped in and recovered the bag while the suspect and a male she was with made off empty-handed.

The incident happened at around 4pm on Tuesday, December 12.

Detectives would like to hear from any witnesses to this isolated incident, and in particular, are keen to identify the member of the public who intervened.
