Could you donate a good quality coat to help keep someone warm this winter?
Rotary e-Club South West Peninsula members in South Molton are launching Wrap Up South West in North Devon with a collection of good quality second-hand coats for people in need this winter.
Working with project originators Hands On London and local partners, the Rotary club is seeking donations of all types of coats, including winter coats, raincoats, and fleece jackets for adults and children.
Donations of clean coats can be dropped off in the special collection boxes at various sites in South Molton including at The Amory Centre, Sainsbury’s and The Parish Church during normal opening hours.
The collection will be held between October 20 and October 30. The coats must be in good condition, clean and with all zips and buttons in good working order. The charity is only collecting coats you would be happy to wear yourself.
The collected coats will then be distributed to organisations in North Devon that work with people who are in need of a warm or waterproof coat this winter.
Local club member, Lyn Winter, said: “We know that many people in our community are struggling to make ends meet, and a good coat is a necessity for staying warm in winter.
“We hope that this coat collection will help to keep people warm and dry this winter.”
