Quince Honey Farm in South Molton are delighted to announce that their Nectary Restaurant is a finalist in the Devon Tourism Awards 2023-24 for Café/Tearoom of the Year.

The team, who previously took home gold in the same awards in 2021-22 and bronze at the South West Tourism Awards that year, are thrilled to have the chance to add another to their name.

Head chef, Greg Tyler said: "We are so excited to get this recognition from the Devon Tourism Awards again. We always strive to provide excellent customer service and a varied menu of freshly prepared dishes, so to have this acknowledged by the judging panel is extremely gratifying."

"We are so proud of our restaurant team, both front of house and in the kitchen, and reaching the finals of these well-regarded awards is testament to all our hard work together." continued restaurant manager, David Ackland.

The Nectary Restaurant opened in April 2019 when Quince Honey Farm relocated to Aller Cross, near the A361 just outside South Molton. It has firmly established itself as a favourite destination for locals, as well as tourists visiting the attraction and passers by taking a break as they drive through the area.

The menu offers something to suit all tastes, with daily specials, vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options. Also available are their special honey cream teas, home-made cakes, tempting high teas and their popular weekly Sunday lunches.

They are committed to using local suppliers and fresh produce and celebrate their unique situation as part of a working honey farm. Quince Honey Farm’s own honey and preserves are used in dishes, cakes, and their speciality honey lattes to add a sweet flavour to the menu. And there are observation bee hives situated beside the windows, where customers can safely see the bees hard at work while enjoying the restaurant facilities.

The Nectary Restaurant has also gained a name for itself as a place to hold large gatherings and special events. The team were proud to host their first Honey Talk & Tasting Experience in May this year, which involved an educational talk and a delicious five course taster menu featuring different types of honey that complimented the ingredients.

The whole Quince Honey Farm team now eagerly awaits to hear whether the award for 2023-24 is gold, silver, or bronze, with the ceremony being held in Torquay on November 16.
