The Barnstaple and Bideford agency of NFU Mutual has nominated local charity, Care for Kids North Devon, to receive a donation of £6,443 from NFU Mutual’s national £1.92million ‘Agency Giving Fund’.

This will be enough to support six local families who come to the charity for help. Care for Kids provides instant financial support to families who have a child diagnosed with a life threatening illness or condition. The charity’s grants help families pay for the unexpected costs of travel to specialist appointments outside the area and loss of earnings whilst caring for a sick child.

Care for Kids trustee, Fran Greenaway, said: “Donations like this are what keep our charity going - we are totally reliant on the generosity of local businesses and individuals who fundraise for us and sponsor us. We are extremely grateful to NFU Mutual for its support and will be very pleased to support at least six families using these funds. It will really make a massive difference to families who are going through the toughest of times.”

"We are thrilled to have the opportunity to support Care for Kids North Devon with this donation from the NFU Mutual Agency Giving Fund. The important work that they do in providing care and support to children with life-threatening illnesses and their families is truly commendable. At Barnstaple and Bideford NFU Mutual, we are committed to supporting local charities and making a positive impact in our community. We hope that this contribution will help Care for Kids continue their invaluable work and bring comfort to those in need," said Jonny May, spokesperson for Barnstaple and Bideford NFU Mutual.
