Fremington draw at Park

Latest from the NDFL

Fremington are the early leaders of the North Devon Football League Premier Division but the ever-dangerous Boca Seniors are just a point behind in second, and maintained their 100% start to the season with an entertaining 3-2 win over Appledore 2nds on Saturday.

Liam Hawkins, Scott Sharp and Kyle Spear were on target for Boca, while Callum Taylor grabbed a brace for Appledore. Fremington, meanwhile, were held to a 1-1 draw by Park United, who are also unbeaten in third.

North Molton 2nds came very close to picking up their first point of the season, going down to an agonising 3-2 loss at Landkey Town. Alfie Nicholls and Declan Davis notched for the Stags but Landkey won it with Euan Kent’s double and Max Farmery’s strike.

AFC Dumnonii had a weekend off but still lead the way in the Senior Division. Torridgeside 2nds are among the chasing pack, and they recorded a strong 3-0 win at home to Braunton 2nds. Billy Rose and Matt Sussex struck early for T-Side and Alfie Stevens sealed the points.

Bideford 2nds remain rooted to the bottom after they were overpowered by Northam Lions. Tommy Taylor and Bo King both scored a brace for the Lions, with Ross McNicholas and Dan Rogerson completing a 6-1 victory.

A goal from Ryan Smith was enough to give Intermediate One leaders South Molton a 1-0 success at home to Putford but the game of the day was at Braunton 3rds, who were beaten 5-4 by Kingsley Park in a NDFL classic.

Brad Tossell fired in a brilliant hat-trick for Braunton, with Nick Trump also on the score sheet, but Jake Hamilton (2), Kieran Ford, Adam Hughes and Daniel Edgar won it for Kingsley Park.

Merton lead by a point in Intermediate Two following their enthralling 4-3 win at Morwenstow 2nds. Lewis Hookway scored twice for the visitors, who also had goals from Luke Avery and George Bartlett. AFC Dumnonii 2nds are poised in second.
