This significant achievement will allow Petroc to establish a state-of-the-art Animal Care Centre, catering to the needs of its growing number of students and providing a springboard for their future success.

The focus for new centre will have sustainable value and efficiency in line with BREEAM excellent which generates a sustainable environment that will enhance the wellbeing of the people who live and work in them.

The decision to pursue the Wave 5 funding was driven by Petroc's commitment to offer its animal care students a modern, purpose-built learning facility that meets the highest standards for the delivery of world-class T level qualifications.

This investment will also enable the College to furnish the centre with industry-standard specialist equipment, fostering an environment that promotes the transition into skilled employment within the animal care sector of North Devon and beyond.

Petroc's Animal Care provision has been experiencing remarkable growth, with enrollments rising consistently each year. With the new Animal Care Centre, the College can further develop and accommodate its expanding student body, providing them with cutting-edge facilities and an immersive educational experience.

This milestone is not only significant for Petroc but also for the wider community of North Devon. The innovative learning environment offered by the new Animal Care Centre is a vital component in achieving this goal and enhances the facilities that Petroc extends to the community.

By granting young people access to a 21st Century education experience, the College aims to empower them for a bright and prosperous future, made possible by the appropriate facilities and ample space provided by this funding.

"This funding for Petroc signifies a tremendous opportunity for North Devon and beyond," said Rachael Booth, Interim Director of Academic Studies.
