North Devon gymnasts in Italy
North Devon Gymnastics Club in Italy
International acclaim and praise from world champions was what greeted North Devon Display Gymnastics Club when they performed at the 16th International Festival Del Sole in Riccione Italy this month.
The 20 strong team of gymnasts, ranging in age from 7 to 20 represented Great Britain alongside gymnasts from 17 other countries, including the Kokushikan Japanese men's university rhythmic gymnastics champions.
The team took part in the opening ceremony leading the GB flag into a packed arena.
Head Coach Rattie Gordon said: “This has been an amazing experience for the gymnasts and a huge honour to represent their country doing the sport they love. They have done their club and their country proud, and I’m very proud of all the hard they have put in over the months of training. The community have also been an amazing support, helping us to raise funds.”
