The Red Arrows over Barnstaple - Credit: BPGC
The RAF Red Arrows Display team flew over Barnstaple on Saturday (June 24) while the Barnstaple Pilot Gig Club (BPGC) Junior crew were out training on the river Taw, giving them the opportunity for this spectacular photograph.
This added to the excitement for the Junior rowers who are training hard for the current Regatta season.
The next Regatta that BPGC will compete in is at Ilfracombe on Saturday, July 1, usually attended by many Pilot Gig Clubs from around the South West and beyond.
Also, BPGC will be staging their own regatta in the heart of Barnstaple on the River Taw on Sunday, August 6, when six local clubs will be competing against each other.
Most of the action will be visible from the river side walk along The Strand, with at least six races in the different age categories and approximately 100 rowers taking part.
Race Control will be in the Old Railway Station on The Strand, and there will be food and drink on sale and a raffle to raise funds for the club.
