A delightfully comic, ghoulish and immersive murder mystery play that invites the audience to turn detective is opening in Torrington on Friday, November 21 for a two night run.
Torrington Players, the town’s amateur dramatics society, are back treading the boards with their new murder mystery play When Arthur Met his Deadline at Torrington Town Hall.
The play has been written by Players member Valerie Howes and bids audiences to bring their sleuthing hats to the 7.30pm shows on Friday, November 21 and Saturday, November 22 to unravel the eerie mystery.

Valerie, a Londoner by birth, has always had a fascination with the theatre. In her mind, her characters are real, they exist and allow her to bring her ’out of the box’ ideas to the forefront, all in the spirit of a good laugh.
Now in her later years, having had a lifetime of writing, Valerie has thrown caution to the wind and produced a piece of delightfully comic, ghoulish and immersive theatre.

Set in a country house, around the dinner table, two mediums hold a séance to summon the ghosts of the ancient mansion.
Disaster strikes when one of the guests, an unpopular investigative journalist, is found dead in the buffet with only the fig chutney for company.

Ghosts abound, but each one of the living guests has a motive for killing Arthur Penrose and it will be for the audience with pen and paper to deduce ‘who dunnit?’
Tickets can be purchased for £10 from Whiskers Pet Centre and Duffy’s Home Hardware in Torrington town centre.
