Feel the smile with the Charlotte Glasson Band at North Devon Jazz Club

’If you’ve ever wondered what smiles sound like, this is it’. So wrote critic Jackie Hayden in the magazine Hot Press about the Charlotte Glasson Band which will perform at North Devon Jazz Club in The Beaver, Appledore on March 6.

Since winning the Best Newcomer Award at the Marlborough Jazz Festival, the band has been wowing audiences at venues across the UK, including the London Jazz Festival, Love Supreme Festival and Pizza Express Live (Soho).

Led by multi-instrumentalist and composer Charlotte Glasson the band  plays mainly original music, specialising in weaving together sounds from across the globe, including Latin, New Orleans Mardi Gras, swing, Middle Eastern and Gypsy jazz influences to create a brand of music defined by rhythm and melody, a world of bird call and sunshine.

When you add in contributions by such fine players as trombonist virtuoso Mark Bassey, and legendary guitarist Chris Spedding, this is a band which creates a unique and uplifting experience, filled with colourful grooves, lush ballads and high energy swing.
