The team at Co-op Funeralcare Exeter collected over 200 eggs for the Bags of Hope appeal.
A funeral home in Exeter has donated more than 200 chocolate Easter eggs to families in need, including children living in temporary accommodation in the city.
The team at Co-op Funeralcare on Cowick Street, in St Thomas Shopping Centre, organised a collection drive as part of the Bags of Hope appeal run by The Salvation Army, which aims to spread goodwill during the Easter period.
Staff had set an initial target of 140 eggs, but thanks to donations from local residents and businesses, the branch collected 205 in total, surpassing its goal ahead of the Easter weekend.
Wai Crawley, Funeral Arranger, Co-op Funeralcare Exeter, said: "We are very grateful to our friends, families, coffee morning attendees and the local St Thomas community for helping us to spread a little joy this Easter."
The Bags of Hope initiative distributes donated items to vulnerable people during key points in the calendar year. The Exeter branch identified the appeal and put out a call to the community to contribute as many eggs as possible
Some of the eggs were given directly to children currently living in temporary accommodation in the city.
