Free sight loss support event announced for Torbay

Information, advice and local exhibitors to feature at Paignton drop-in session

Free sight loss support event announced for Torbay

People living with sight loss in Torbay are being invited to a free community event in Paignton later this month.

Devon in Sight is hosting its Living Well with Sight Loss – Torbay Event 2026 on Tuesday 17 March from 10am to 2pm at Christ Church on Torbay Road.

The event is open not only to the charity’s registered clients, but to anyone living with sight loss, as well as their friends, family members and carers. Organisers say it is designed to help people “navigate their sight loss journey” and find out more about the support available locally.

Visitors will be able to meet a range of exhibitors offering advice, equipment and information. These include All Things Dotty, British Wireless for the Blind Fund, Guide Dogs, Torbay Care and the Torbay Social Club for the Blind & Visually Impaired, alongside Devon in Sight and other groups.

Tea and coffee will be available throughout the day, and attendees can drop in at any time between 10am and 2pm. However, organisers advise arriving no later than 1.30pm to allow enough time to speak to exhibitors before the event closes.

The venue is fully accessible. There is limited parking on site at Christ Church, with additional spaces available on Torbay Road. Bus stops are located nearby on the main road.

Anyone wishing to register their interest or find out more can contact Devon in Sight on 01392 876 666 or visit www.devoninsight.org.uk.
