Work is starting at Great Parks in Paignton to prepare the area for a series of environmental improvements linked to a neighbouring development.
From today, Thursday 26 February, contractors will begin creating a temporary access route into the green space so enhancement works can get under way.
A new entry point will be formed at the junction of Trelissick Road and Great Parks Lane. This will allow vehicles to safely reach the fields where the environmental upgrades will take place.
Once access is established, the main programme of works will begin. This includes sowing a rich wildflower seed mix to support pollinators, planting new hedges and trees, and preparing the land to improve biodiversity and strengthen the long-term ecological value of the area.
The improvements form part of the planning requirements attached to the neighbouring development and are intended to enhance local wildlife habitats.
Residents may notice some minor and temporary disruption around the new access point while the works are under way.
SWISCo said it and its contractors will aim to keep disruption to a minimum and ensure all activity follows ecological best practice and seasonal guidelines.
