Strong start to the season for Okehampton Rugby Club
The fixture schedulers in the Regional 2 Tribute SW Division have served up a fabulous Dartmoor derby to kick-off 2026.
Okehampton, currently sitting third in the table and a point behind Tiverton, will welcome sixth-placed Ivybridge on January 10 and a massive game for both clubs, although this league already looks to be won by runaway leaders Weston-super-Mare.
Reflecting on the first half of the campaign, Oke Head Coach Brett Luxton said: “It’s been a very strong first half of the season for Okehampton Rugby Club, with positive performances and real togetherness shown across the whole club.
“At senior level, results have been excellent: the 1st team sit 3rd, the 2nd team are 2nd, and the Ladies team are right at the pinnacle of their league at Christmas, a fantastic reflection of the hard work being put in across all squads.
“The club continues to go from strength to strength off the pitch too, with a strong and growing youth setup providing a vital pathway for the future of Okehampton RFC.
“A huge thank you to our volunteers, whose dedication and commitment behind the scenes make everything possible, the club truly couldn’t run without you.
“All teams across the club are always welcoming new players, so whether you’re experienced or new to the game, there’s a place for you at Okehampton RFC.”
