Cardiff City away is as tough as it gets in Sky Bet League One but Exeter City will make the Boxing Day trip to South Wales with a new surge in belief running through the squad.
The Grecians were outstanding in defeating Barnsley 3-0 at St James Park in their last outing, a result that moved them out of the relegation zone, while Cardiff suffered a rare defeat at Lincoln.
The Bluebirds edged their previous meeting, 1-0 in the EFL Vertu Trophy, but this will be a very different occasion, and a sizeable festive crowd awaits the Grecians.
City boss Gary Caldwell told the club website: "When you play top of the League you know it's going to be a tough game.
“We have seen them already but we know it will be a changed side from when we played them in the Vertu Trophy, so you can take bits from that game but this will be totally different - it will be a big crowd and they will want to put right the wrongs from Saturday's defeat against Lincoln.
"It's a really tough task, they are a good, well coached team and we have to be at our very best to win. I think our away performances have been very good and we have to learn the details and small margins that will allow us to turn good performances into three points."
