Splashdown Quaywest to host first Christmas market weekends

Splashdown Quaywest in Paignton is set to hold its first ever Christmas market as the waterpark launches a new winter event aimed at boosting year-round activity in Goodrington.

The attraction, which usually closes outside the summer season, will host two Christmas Market weekends in December 2025, featuring more than 30 local craft stalls, food and drink stands, children’s activities and entertainment from the Cameron Mills Group.

Organisers say the event is part of a wider effort to make Goodrington a destination beyond the warmer months.

Jackie Richmond, Group Marketing Director and co-owner of the waterpark, said: “We are excited to be bringing the first of what we hope will be a number of fun events that will take place out of waterpark season. The Christmas Market Weekends and Festive Fridays will, we hope, bring vibrancy, community spirit and holiday cheer to locals and visitors alike.

“We love Goodrington and want to make it a focus for people both in the summer and beyond, creating something for our local community to enjoy. We hope this event will be something that we can grow year on year.”

The Christmas markets will take place on Saturday 13 December and Sunday 14 December, and again on Saturday 20 December and Sunday 21 December 2025, running from 11.30am to 6.30pm. Entry is free.

A second event, Festive Fridays, will run on four consecutive Fridays, 28 November, 5 December, 12 December and 19 December, offering hot drinks and Bratwurst-style hot dogs from the Quaywest Snack Shack between 4pm and 6pm.

Both events are aimed at supporting local traders while giving families an opportunity for last-minute Christmas shopping.
