Torquay United at the Eastern Eye
Torquay United fans in Newton Abbot and Teignbridge were joined by Plainmoor personalities for a special night at the award-winning Eastern Eye Restaurant on Queen Street, hosted by the Torbay Weekly and owner of Clear Sky Publishing, Chris Coward.
United manager Paul Wotton and his assistant Mike Edwards were joined by the club’s co-chairman Mark Bowes-Cavanagh and members of the first-team squad for an evening of amazing food and insight in Newton Abbot.
While savouring the fabulous flavours of the Eastern Eye, recently crowned as the best restaurant in the SW at the Curry Life Magazine Awards, the special guests joined the Yellow Army in taking on a themed Torquay United and sporting quiz.
This was followed by a superb raffle, which raised £820 for Newton Abbot Rotary Club, with prizes including goodies from the Plainmoor club shop and a day out at Newton Abbot Racecourse in 2026.
It was then all about the main event, as compere David Fitzgerald joined Paul Wotton on a journey through the career as a player with Plymouth Argyle, Southampton and Yeovil, moving through to his managerial reign at Truro City and now with the Gulls. A full-on spicy success!
